be sure to use correct English spelling and grammar. Sources must be cited in APA format. Your response should be four (4) pages in length; refer to the “Assignment Format” page for specific format requirements. In your course, turn to Lesson 8. Skim through it to refresh your memory. Next, carefully study and review the section titled “Approaches to Measuring Technological Progress.” Next, relying solely on the material in your course, use your own words to write a short compare-and-contrast essay that defines and explains three distinct perspectives on the evolution of technology. As you write, imagine you are talking to a friend who has no knowledge of this topic. In short, write the way you speak, using a conversational tone. Also, try to alternate short sentences and longer sentences to make your writing more readable. Be sure to create a title and cite yourself as the author. For example: Your essay should include five paragraphs, as follows: It’s permissible to use direct quotes from your reading, but don’t use too many. One to three such quotes should be your limit. Be sure to put a direct quote in quotation marks. For example: According to Smith, “Carbon dioxide is both our friend and our enemy.” Begin by writing a first draft. Then, edit and rework your material to make it clear and concise. After you have reached a final draft, proofread the essay one last time to locate and correct grammar and spelling errors.

Assignment Attend a religious service or ritual from a spiritual tradition that is significantly different from your own personal experience of religion. In other words, if you are Catholic, find a Jewish, Muslim, Buddhist, or perhaps Pentecostal Christian service. If you have no religious affiliation, choose any one you would like. Take notes on your experience based on the criteria below and write a 3 page reflection on the experience (12 pt. Times Roman font with 1 inch margins). Your primary objective is to look for ways that religion is expressed and enacted through language and symbols. Here is a guide for your observations and writing: 1. Describe • Look carefully at the setting where the ritual is taking place. Notice details. What clues about the religion or ritual are given by the setting (location, architecture, art, arrangement, decoration, etc)? • What are the key symbols and actions that are used in the service itself (including what people do and say)? • What is the overall “feel” of the service? • Summarize some of the key “meanings” that you observe. 2. Understand • Research and summarize the central beliefs of the religion. Where did you see these beliefs reflected in the service you attended? • In what ways is the religious service linked to a particular culture? What connections did you see between the symbols and actions used and everyday life? • What purposes do you think the service served (affirm beliefs, moral encouragement, build a sense of community or belonging with others, etc.). • What aspects of the service were most unfamiliar to you? Research one of these and describe why it is important for the religion.

Select one of the two case studies below to use for this assignment. Case Study #1 Nitin and Priya are first-generation Indian-American immigrants, while their 16-year-old son was born and raised in the United States. They were reluctant to engage in treatment, but are doing so at the request of their son, Sujay. In Sujay’s view, his parents are being overly controlling regarding his upcoming choice of college, which is causing increasingly frequent clashes between him and his parents. Sujay wants to attend art school, while his parents want him to attend engineering school. They state that a career in science, religion, law, or medicine is the appropriate path for a person of his caste. Sujay claims that while he wants to his parents, he feels they are stifling his passion and imposing cultural norms that, to him, are a part of their “world” and not his. You have little knowledge of Indian culture or the caste system and are unsure whether the issue at hand is a matter of controlling parents dealing with a life transition issue or a serious conflict involving social and cultural influences. Case Study #2 Nicole and Julia explain to you that their relationship has felt strained lately and that they fear they are heading for a breakup. The couple explain to you that they have been in a long-term, non-monogamous relationship, but that lately, Nicole has expressed desire to change this practice. Julia feels that Nicole is “changing the rules halfway through the game” and that her sexual relationships with others are of no consequence to how she feels about Nicole. Their current relationship practice conflicts with your own personal opinion about the role of monogamy in relationships, and thus you feel conflicted about how to handle the situation. The Assignment (2–3 pages) •Identify the case study you chose and describe the ethical issue(s) present in it. •Explain how you would address each of these issues. •Justify your response using the appropriate professional Code of Ethics. A reaction paper is just what its name suggests: a formal paper explaining your reaction to a peer-reviewed journal article whose topic is relevant to this course ( abnormal psychology ). The paper is a review because your reaction will involve judgment or evaluation; it is an analysis because you will focus on the research methodology and results. Keep in mind that you are writing a formal essay for an academic audience. Like any good essay, your reaction paper should develop one primary idea or perception, support it with specific evidence (examples from your article, etc.), and present both ideas and evidence in clear language and a logical way.

From the time of early studies by Sir Francis Galton in the late nineteenth century linking it with mental ability, the cranial capacity of the human skull has played an important role in arguments about IQ, racial differences, and evolution, sometimes with serious consequences.  (See, for example, S.J. Gould, “The Mismeasure of Man,” 1996.) Suppose that the cranial     capacity measurement for modern, adult males is 1041 cc (cubic centimeters). Complete    the following statements about the of cranial capacity measurements for modern, adult males. (a) According to Chebyshev’s theorem, at least ?56%75%84%89% of the measurements lie within 2 of the mean, 1041cc. (b) Suppose that the distribution is .  If approximately 99.7% of the measurements lie between 309 cc and 1773 cc, then the approximate value of the for the distribution, according to the empirical rule, is .

The Indian Burying Ground BY PHILIP FRENEAU (1787) In spite of all the learned have said, I still my old opinion keep; The posture, that we give the dead, Points out the soul’s eternal sleep. Not so the ancients of these lands— The Indian, when from life released, Again is seated with his friends, And shares again the joyous feast. His imaged birds, and painted bowl, And venison, for a journey dressed, Bespeak the nature of the soul, Activity, that knows no rest. His bow, for action ready bent, And arrows, with a head of stone, Can only mean that life is spent, And not the old ideas gone. Thou, stranger, that shalt come this way, No fraud upon the dead commit— Observe the swelling turf, and say They do not lie, but here they sit. Here still a lofty rock remains, On which the curious eye may trace (Now wasted, half, by wearing rains) The fancies of a ruder race. Here still an aged elm aspires, Beneath whose far-projecting shade (And which the shepherd still admires) The children of the forest played! There oft a restless Indian queen (Pale Shebah, with her braided hair) And many a barbarous form is seen To chide the man that lingers there. By midnight moons, o’er moistening dews; In habit for the chase arrayed, The hunter still the deer pursues, The hunter and the deer, a shade! And long shall timorous fancy see The painted chief, and pointed spear, And Reason’s self shall bow the knee To shadows and delusions here. Based on the poem by Princeton educated New Englander Philip Freneau lamenting the by-gone “Indian” in 1787, the map of the exploration of Lewis and Clark and Zebulon Pike less than 20 years later, and the readings for the week of 10/31 that describe the social, cultural, and political climate in the Southwest present day United States up to the mid-1800s—Is it reasonable to believe that Freneau truly believed the Native Americans were part of the “American” past? Also, what do you think contributed to the romanticized portrayals of Native Americans in Freneau’s poem and do you think his poem resonated with Lewis and Clark, Zebulon Pike, other newly educated “Americans” venturing West? (do notforget Sacajewa) Your response should be no more than ONE page typed due 11/6 by 5pm

Every company finds it challenging to recruit and select top executives for an international location. The nationals of the host country will be aware of the local laws and customs and may accept a lower wage as well, but may not be familiar with the company’s culture and policies. The company’s employees, on the other hand, will know about the company’s business, culture, and policies, but might not be familiar with the culture and customs of the foreign country. Your MNC is expanding its operations to South America (Brazil, Argentina, Chile, or Columbia). The subsidiary in South America will be manufacturing automobile parts. As a human resource executive, you have to decide how you will staff this new location for top- and middle-level management, and other employees. Using the module readings, Argosy University online library resources, and the Internet, respond to the following: Write a two-to-three-page paper in Word format. Utilize at least three scholarly sources in your research. Apply APA standards to citation of sources. Make sure you write in a clear, concise, and organized manner; demonstrate ethical scholarship in accurate representation and attribution of sources; and display accurate spelling, grammar, and punctuation

Weekly tasks or assignments (Individual or Group Projects) will be due by Monday and late submissions will be assigned a late penalty in accordance with the late penalty policy found in the syllabus. NOTE: All submission posting times are based on midnight Central Time. Respond to the following scenario with your thoughts, ideas, and comments. Be substantive and clear, and use research to reinforce your ideas. In anticipation of Mary’s request for comparative analysis, it will be useful at this time to do some research. You know that you can obtain the financials of companies within the same sector or Standard Industry Code as Apix Printing (e.g., commercial printing), and that the North American Industry Classification System (NAICS) Standard Industry 2012 code for Apix Printing is presently 323111. Use to search for two other companies in the same industry as Apix Printing. When you get to work the next day, you see the following e-mail from Mary: Explain the computation for each of the following, and compute each for Apix and two other companies in the same industry as Apix Printing: Present your findings of the above data in a table. Add a paragraph that summarizes your results, indicating whether investors would find the financial analysis results of Apix competitive as compared to rivals in the sector. Be sure to include both positive and negative trends in your analysis.

What do you feel is a stronger motivator: intrinsic or extrinsic rewards? Why do you feel this way? For me personally, intrinsic rewards are more motivating, but I feel for most people extrinsic rewards are more motivating. The employees that I have had the pleasure of supervising were much more appreciative and motivated by receiving rewards such as certificates to hang on their wall, a dinner for two for them and their spouse, tickets to sporting events, prepaid cards to Walmart or anything tangible they could touch and feel. I can be self-motivated just by obtaining a goal that I set or an increase in sales due to my management style. I admit, when I first started my career, I could be motivated by the extrinsic rewards, but as I have been around a little longer, I now just prefer the intrinsic rewards. I think management does have to know their employees, so they understand what does motivate them. Motivation is important for job performance, employee retention, self-esteem and morale. The cost of motivation is minimum, but the value of motivation is significant. Purchase the answer to view it Purchase the answer to view it

A logic model or program theory is a description or model frequently pictorial of how a program is supposed to achieve its expected outcomes and solve the identified problem for which it was created. It creates a logical links between expected outcomes and the activities designed to achieve them and incorporates the evidence-based theoretical assumptions that explain how the activities will lead to outcomes. A program theory or logic model is NOT the theoretical framework on which your project is based although it may be related to a theoretical framework. A theoretical or conceptual framework is a general theory that explains why some things happen. A program theory or logic model is unique to your project and explains how it is supposed to work. The initial PICOT question that I have formulated based on my area of interest for EBP proposal revolved around pressure ulcer management for the elderly patient. PICOT QUESTIONS
