The discussion assignment for this week includes a review of the Key Assignment Outline completed by one of your classmates, as well as a substantial response to at least 1 other student. Primary Task Response: Your first task is to post your own Key Assignment Outline to the discussion area so that other students are able to review your plan. Attach your document to the main discussion post, and include any notes you feel are appropriate. The purpose of this assignment is to improve the quality of the Key Assignment Draft you will complete next week. Respond to Another Student: Review at least 1 other student’s Key Assignment Outline and provide meaningful feedback. Refrain from general feedback, such as simply stating “good job.” Your feedback to other students is most ful if you not only point out weak areas but also offer suggestions for improvement. The best feedback takes a 3stage approach to identify what was done well, weaknesses, and areas for improvement.
After reading the theories associated with chapters 11, 12, and 13, consider a relational development interaction that took place at work, with family, and in the media explaining how the theories work in different ways in the three different situations. In your post, you must use at least two outside resources in addition to your text with in-text citations. In your peer responses, you must use at least one outside resource. For clarification purposes, you are supposed to give three examples of all three theories: Theory #1: 1. dealing with work, 2. dealing with family, and 3. dealing with the media. Theory #2: 1.dealing with work, 2. dealing with family, and 3. dealing with the media. Theory #3: 1. dealing with work, 2. dealing with family, and 3. dealing with the media. Social workers who utilize the solution-focused model are mindful of how their conversations with their clients, families, groups, or even community members facilitate their thinking about solutions. The client is always the “expert,” and therefore social workers ask questions to explore how the client perceives the problem and situation.Social workers may use solution-focused questions such as the miracle question. For example, “Suppose you woke up one morning and by some miracle everything you ever wanted, everything good you could ever imagine for yourself, had actually happened—your life had turned out exactly the way you wanted it. What would be different in your life?” When clients are asked this, it forces them to reflect on what they want or would like to achieve. By projecting themselves into the future, clients are more likely to imagine what is possible rather than focusing on the past and their failures. This allows for the possibility of developing solutions. In this Discussion, you apply the solution-focused model and solution-focused questions. You provide other solution-focused questions, similar to the miracle question that was provided for you. Although the textbook provides actual examples of solution-focused questions, always think about your client—you may have to modify the question a bit to take into account the client’s age, cognitive and developmental stage, culture, etc., so that the question makes sense to the client. To prepare:Recall a case from your fieldwork experience to use for this Discussion.Review and focus on pages 520–521 in your textbook. In 1 to 2 sentences, briefly identify and describe the problem as perceived by the client, family, or group that you dealt with in your past fieldwork experience. From the list of solution-focused questions on page 520 (e.g., exception questions, coping questions, scaling questions, and relationship questions), identify two different types of questions, and ask each question as if you were actually asking the questions to the client. (Remember, do not use the miracle question.) Remember that the goal of these questions is to assist clients in identifying a solutionExplain how asking these two questions would the client in coming up with the solution. In 1 to 2 sentences, reflect and explain how asking these questions made you feel and perhaps how the client might feel. No more then 500 words
Topic: discussion post on Sample Discussion Post: Compare and contrast five types of window glass. There are many sorts of glass that make windows. The different types have different uses or purposes that they aim to achieve with their various designs. There are several factors involved in choosing the type of glass to use on a window. The first one is the cost of the window glass, and the second factor is the amount of energy that your windows can you save (Sayyed et al., 2019). There is also window glass for areas that are prone to harsh weather conditions like hurricanes and storms. The types of window glasses are: Float glass that gets its name from its formation procedure. It is formed when molten glass forms large and flat panels by floating it on the molten tin (Wang et al., 2017). It is then trimmed, treated, and improved. Float glass is just the ordinary fragile glass. This glass is weak and easy to break. The glass can be used to make various types of glass windows. Laminated glass is made of two pieces of float glass pressed together by a thin layer of resin. This glass is standard in car windshields (Wang et al., 2017). The glass is strong enough to prevent the windscreen from collapsing if it breaks due to the presence of resin, thus able to maintain the structural integrity of the windshield. Obscured glass is characterized by designs such as etched or beveled features that make it hard for one to see through, but light can penetrate (Sayyed et al., 2019). The glass is best for privacy purposes and can be used in bathrooms. Tempered glass is made from float gas that has undergone a tempering process. This process makes the glass extremely strong and hard to cut (Wang et al., 2017). However, the lens can still break into smaller and less dangerous pieces compared to float glass—Bess for low and big windows. Insulated glass is best suited for double and triple-pane windows. A space bar separated the two panes. Krypton and argon are added into the space to offer insulation between the glass panes. This glass is durable and increases the u-factor, and solar heat gains coefficient of the windows. References Sayyed, M. I., Kaky, K. M., Şakar, E., Akbaba, U., Taki, M. M., & Agar, O. ( ).
