We’ve spent some time in and out of class thinking about arguments for licensing parents. I want you to write a three-page paper (11-12 point font, double spaced) that states your opinion on this topic and your reasons for your opinion. In other words, I want you to create an argument to support/prove your view on licensing parents. Importantly, I want you to state whether it is deductive or inductive and explicitly state the premises and conclusion of the argument. Once you’ve made sure that your argument is valid (if you are giving a deductive argument) or strong (if you are giving an inductive argument), try to show that your premises are true or at least plausible (i.e. seems believable). If you succeed, then you will have shown that your argument is either sound or cogent.

Consider the social significance of identities (class, gender, race, etc.) and the ways in which such differences may be affecting the ways in which you (and others) are participating. Answer: I read “Stand Up” by Cathy Park Hong, and I really want to focus on the part where she talks about the anti blackness, colorism and homophobia within the Asian Community and how being queer or dark skinned will make you looked down upon in the Asian community. When Hong talks about how the Asian community have been inflicting the same type of hate and racism towards black or brown people, or even people of their own kind with darker skin, it reminded me of the Colorism that we have within my own ethnicity (the Filipino Community). This is an issue I have personally experienced within my own family and it comes to show that the standards that the Asian Community have placed among themselves has been set so high, that it is sometimes quite infuriating. They are willing to bring down their own kind if they do not fit that standard. I am a Filipino and I know a lot of women back in the Philippines take iv glutathione for skin whitening because the beauty standard over there is to have really pale skin. Some people are just naturally pale but a lot of Filipinos have brown skin, and a lot of them are seen as poor or not beautiful for having darker skin. That beauty standard has also been harmful towards so many people all over the world by belittling so many of their OWN people just because of the color of their skin. Colorism has affected the Philippines in so many ways and it all started when Spain colonized the Philippines, viewing white Europeans as “greater’, and all of that still affects Filipino communities in the Philippines, and even in the US, today. This concept has made many people to feel ashamed of their natural brown color, and purchase products that will whiten their complexion.

She also feels that she is learning the material better as a result of the amphetamine. When the grades are in, Aaliyah receives an A on her work. As the semester continues, Aaliyah turns to amphetamines more and more often to her stay awake to complete her schoolwork. Soon, Aaliyah finds that one pill no longer keeps her awake as long as she needs. She starts taking more than one pill at a time. She knows that taking amphetamines so often is not good for her health, and she finds she experiences an increase in headaches when she takes them, but she continues to take them because they are ing her be successful in school and at work. Challenge your peers by asking a question that may cause them to add additional information about their responses in the initial response. Continue to monitor the discussion forum until 5:00 p.m. (Mountain Time) on Day 7, and respond with robust dialogue to anyone who replies to your initial post. Each guided response should be a minimum word of 200 words.

To respond to this topic, you first want to define and discuss INTERNAL vs. EXTERNAL recruitment practices. You want to demonstrate your understanding of the pros and cons of each approach. Include in you discussion an example of a situation in which each of these approaches might be particularly effective. Be sure to conduct independent research and include an expert’s ideas (with proper citations) to support your argument. There is a wealth of information available in our texts, isn’t there? I cannot possibly ask you questions about every topic and concept – but I want to make sure you know the material. For example, we didn’t talk about INTERVIEWS and the various interviewing techniques an HRM can use. Then, there are the important topics of NEGOTIATING with and PLACING employees, once they have been hired! For this last topic, I would ask you to select one of the topics above or a topic that sparked your interest this week and summarize your understanding about the topic. I would like to see at least two paragraphs in which you explain your understanding about any aspect of the employee recruitment and selection processes issues or techniques. Conduct outside/independent research and include your sources. You get to choose your focus.
